Cars are commonly used in our daily life and there are more and more cars were purchased by people. The over amount of cars strongly affected the environment and the primary resources like petrolem are over extended by people. There is no solution for this problem before due to importance of cars for people. Hybrid cars is a new style of car which just came out a year before. Less petroleum use really makes this style of cars competitive againest normal cars. Our enviorment was destoryed by our daily traffic and Hybrid cars is what can save our enviroment back. It is ture that people can not live without cars but is it possible to keep using cars and minimize the polluiton? The answer for this question is yes, and Hybrid cars is what gonna make this come ture. Hybrid cars is a better future for both human and environment due to many facts. To be started, the biggest benefit of using hybrid cars is to protect our environment. Fuels used by normal cars are primary energy and it also had a big pollution to our environment. The air pollution caused by cars strongly affected our daily life, many diseases were caused by air pollution. China would be a good example to exanmine how air pollution is a serious issue. Cars in China were increased a lot in the last ten years due to its population. The air pollution in big cites in China is now very serious. At certain times, the air in big cities such as Shanghai is so polluted people cannot go outside. If people won’t stop the pollution, one day our earth would be not existent. We only have one earth which means all people are required to protect it and these air pollutions and over using resources have to stop. Hybrid cars use less fuels or even none fuels which protects the environment really well. According to the Alternative fuels data center,In 2013, the United States imported about 33% of the petroleum it consumed, and transportation was responsible for nearly three-quarters of total U.S. Hybrid cars can reduced the reliance on imported petroleum and increase energy security. Hybrid vehicle engines generate fewer emissions, provide good mileage, idle less, and are very fuel efficient. These hybrid vehicles can help save planet.The petroleum normal car used are primary sources which means it will be less and less in the future. The price of oil would goes higher because it was needed and the amount became less than before. Hybrid cars would have lower cost later because it won’t use petrolem as much as normal cars do. Hybrid cars’ costs on later parts after purchase the car is a lot lower than normal cars. In case you select a hybrid vehicle then the US Government will appreciate your selection by providing you considerable tax breaks. US government supported the hybrid cars by lower the hybrid cars taxes. People paid high car taxes for normal cars and the car taxes of hybrid cars is a lot lower. There are people saying that hybrid cars all have weak performance because it use electricity as the main energy. Normal hybrid cars are usually with less horse power compare to normal cars. However the new BMW i8 could totally changed people’s idea on hybrid cars. It is no longer slower than normal cars and the new BMW i8 shows the future of hybrid sport cars. BMW i8 has 375 horse power and only 4.4 seconds from 0 to 60 miles which is a lot faster than normal cars. BMW i8 shows that peoples’ idea of weak porformance of sport cars are wrong and in the future even hybrid competitive sport cars could be made also. At that time, there won’t be any petroleum cars anymore and people could save our environment by using hybrid cars.

Also hybrid cars has strong function too. BMW and Tesla all made super hybrid cars which has super strong engine. BMW i8 has 375 horse power and goes from 0 to 60mph only in 4.4 seconds. Tesla also have hybrid sport car which is all really well functioned.

This is the best Ted Talk I have ever seen. The theme of this talk is how to sounds smart even you have nothing prepared. The starting sentence is a really nice hook, he started with the sentence "Hear that, that's nothing" He emphasized that he has nothing to talk about which would inspire the listeners curiosity and successfully catch the readers attention. The speech is really well organized and this man is definitely talk with s sense of humor. It started with the sentence "I have nothing to talk about today" and then he started to explain why is he saying that. He started to giving examples that even he know nothing he could still use numbers; pictures; words to makes him sounds brilliant. The perfect two examples in my mind would be his chart and numbers examples. The numbers he gave are all random real numbers which are not related to the topic at all. The chart he shows also means nothing but it makes him seems that he knows what is he talking about. There is one sentence really funny "If you are watching this on Youtube right now without sound, you probably think this guy knows what he is talking about. He is obviously talking about "nothing" but all these numbers and charts really changes the listeners ideas. In the later part of speech, he shows that even the sound of you talking could make you sounds smart and he gives perfect examples to support his idea. The speaker has a really good pacing and volume. He talks really relax and with a sense of humor. The clarity is also really good and I have to agree he is one of the best speaker I have ever seen. The closing of the speech is my favorite part because it actually makes me start to think about his speech. He ends up with the idea to let the listeners think about the beginning of the speech and the end of speech. He really said nothing but due to all his visuals and researches, listeners actually feel that he is well prepared. I felt the closing is very interesting because it catches the listeners attention again. I believe this is the best ted talk I have ever seen.

A good Ted talk requires an interesting hook to attract the listeners. A good start is always helpful which can inspire readers attention. A clear thesis is also required because it can help listeners catch the main point of the speech. With out a clear thesis, listeners might easily lost during the speech. The main section requires pro researches to support the authors point and it also needs personal experiences. A vivid personal experience can always deeply move the listener. Visals are really important in aTed talk because listeners can easily get board if they keep hearing the speech. People want to see Vidal pictures because it could make the speech more interesting. Visual pictures or videos can always interested the readers. If the person who was giving the speech is humorous, it would be a lot better than just standing their and giving a speech.

This ted talk is about patient zero Monica Lewinsky came back to the society with confident after 19 years. She was patient zero who became the critical person for the whole world in one night. She started to become desperate in the beginning but she came back as a new person. She started to give speech everywhere and she doesn't mind mention about the past anymore. The good part of the ted walk would be she came back confidently and talk about her past humorously. She started to face what she did wrong and don't escape from the past anymore. The speech is really funny but it teaches people a lot.

I believe our team did well on these two debates, especially the second debate. In our first debate, everyone in our team did enough researches especially our team captain. The timing part and personal story is what we need to work on after the first debate. No one in our team tells about the personal story which is our failure. The other team did well on the timing part but their researches are not as strong as ours. They didn't tell the personal story also which is the same mistake as ours. Our group did really well on the second debate. Lauren started the debate with a very powerful story and powerful sources. For me, I believe I did well on the rebuttal part and my timing part. My resources are from BBC which directly shows it is not bias and I also told a personal story to support my debate. Concession also helps me a lot during my rebuttal so i believe i did well on my part. I think i need to work on my pronunciation next time and present my opinion more clearly. The other team also did pretty well but they just mess up the timing part. They all finished what they prepared to say before the time ended. I think they can improve by doing more researches so they have enough things to say before the time finished. I believe we won the debates because we did more researches and we present better during the debate. Our team captain did really well in the beginning and conclusion parts. Me and Joseph all did well on the rebuttal part so I believe we won the debate. Also The other team kind of fail badly on the timing part and i think our team made less mistakes than the other team also. Consider all these facts, I believe that our group won the debate.

Above: Every 12 minutes, another person dies in a car accident.
1. Drunk Driving
"Drunk driving is a blight on our civilization. An average of 17,000 individuals die each year in drunk driving related deaths. While the numbers have come down slightly — in 2010, for example, 10,228 individuals died from drunk driving related fatalities — drunk driving continues to be an enormously important public safety issue.
What is more, drinking and driving is strongly correlated with youth. According to M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), in 2010 the highest drunk driving rates were found amongst those ages 21 to 25 (23.4%), and 18 to 20 (15.1%). After age 25, the drunk driving rates decrease.
It seems quite plausible that were alcohol to be legalized for those under the age of 18, the 15.1% of 18 to 20 year olds who drink before getting behind the wheel would rise significantly. The fatalities caused by drinking and driving would likely rise as well.
Taking that chance seems irresponsible. As an article in MADD's Driven Magazine put it, "promoting 'responsible drinking and driving' is like promoting 'responsible drive-by shootings.'" "(Policy Mic)
2. Binge Drinking and Alcohol Poisoning
"Another critical reason not to lower the drinking age is the prevalence of binge drinking, particularly on college campuses. A brief stroll through nearly every major campus in America reveals a plethora of keg parties, crowded bars filled with fake ID wielding minors, and rowdy sorority and fraternity functions that rage through the night.
According to The Center For Science In The Public Interest, "44% of students attending 4-year colleges drink alcohol at the binge level or greater." What is more, as many as 30,000 college students need medical treatment each year to cope with alcohol poisoning. Fox News reports that 157 college-age individuals (ages 18 to 23) drank themselves to death from 1999 through 2005. Given the epidemic of binge drinking among minors lowering the drinking age would be like subjecting a few dozen more Americans, each year, to the firing squad. "(policy Mic)

1. The drinking age
Yes I believe the drinking age should be lowered, it is a high responsibility for people to drink and know when they are going too far. Especially when it is a minor that is drinking, they don't know when to stop, they just keep drinking. And minors. 21 and under get drunk over twice as fast as an adult would. Drinking these days have been overdone, and those who say, "yes, the drinking age should be lowered," all of you are just low life drunks who threw your life away a long time ago. Being that the percentage between minors and adults, minors drink a lot more than adults, and because today in this generation, the youth have flourished giving more minors than adults, and most of them are just ruining themselves by drinking, I think if the drinking age is raised even more than it is now, that would make a big difference in tomorrow's youth, and their future would be a lot more satisfying and exciting for themselves. (Not Lower)
I think that lowering the drinking age would be medically irresponsible. In our brains, the frontal lobes are essential for functions such as emotional regulation, planning, and organization. They continue to develop through adolescence and young adulthood. Consuming alcohol can interfere with this development and can potentially cause chronic problems such as greater vulnerability to addiction and depression. Also, 18 year-olds are entering a new phase of independence, and due to a lack of maturity, are more likely to get involved in more risky activities such as binge drinking. (Not Lower)
Our drinking age is already extremely high. Like one of the anonymous posters said, it is insane that you can serve in the military, vote, own a house, marry, change your citizenship, etc. before you can drink. Age has nothing to do with responsibility which seems to be a main argument on the pro side. I believe that if children are exposed to alcohol from a young age and taught how to use it responsibly the effect of lowering the rate of alcohol abuse will be much more improved. The reason people binge is because they see parents drinking, they see so many ads about alcohol, yet they are never taught the correct way to use it since that is considered taboo in our country. It is not age that equals responsibility, but the education that they get on the subject. (Lower)(Debate.org)
At the age of 18 we are considered legally independent, and with that comes the expectation that we are also able to make decisions of a highly complex nature which impact on both our nation and ourselves because we are considered suitably intellectually developed to do so. Consider a voting decision, to do it properly, you should be able to understand the various economic arguments, appreciate the impacts of various regional approaches to Asylum seekers, and have a clear understanding of what each party really stands for beyond a few superficial headline issues. At the age of 18, we are considered developed enough to do this. On a more personal level, you can join the armed forces and be flown into the most dangerous places on earth to be shot at by people who hate you with every sinew in their bodies, risk not only death, but capture by the enemy and torture at their hands. In essence, you are considered mature enough to make such a drastic decision, which is far more dangerous to you than what alcohol threatens you with. The reason the State allows us to do these things is due to the assumption that we are making an 'informed' decision, meaning that we clearly understand the potential consequences of our actions. The choice to drink is perhaps the most informed decision a teenager will ever make, on par with the choice to have safe sex. The reason being is that throughout high school there is an endless barrage of statistics, shock stories and science presented to teenagers to ensure that when the time comes, they really can make an informed decision. Contrast this to the total absence of education about the other issues such as politics and the military that are faced when turning 18, yet we are assumed to be making qualified decisions without question. If there is anything that the government should be taking a nanny state approach to on account of their belief we are ignorant fools unable to make a decision, drinking should be the last one on the agenda, as it is the singularly most understood. Almost every teenager in Australia knows the risk when they make the choice to drink, it is offensive to tell them as older ‘wiser’ generations that they can die for us with guns, but not be trusted to know the potential risks that a beer poses.(Lower)(Debate.org)

There is another sky by Emily Dickinson
There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields -
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields -
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

There is a famous saying that “Time doesn’t wait for anyone and you are the only one who have to make it happen” I could still remember thoese times i was late for class or my paper wasn’t finish before the time it should be done. I could still remember thoese weekends i told myself that i would finish my homework on Saturday and then i started to do my homework on Sunday night which is only a few hours before the next day classes started. These late times are my part of high school memories which i honstly remember the most.
I am the person who always try to pull back all of my work. There is a voice inside my haert always say that i can do this tomorrow and i still have enough time. Most of my homework were finished a few hours before the classes started. For right now high school is the time for us to grow up and become mature. It is like a small real world to let us get ready for the future. Be able to attend class on time is same as being ontime for jobs. High school is the time i get adjusted to the future society to make sure i won’t make the wrong decisions in the future.
Today is the day which we all need to choose whether or not to act the same way as before and look upon to the future. We have a opportunity right now to go out into this real world and use the time we have to benefit not only ourselves but also our families; friends and nations. I believe we can make a difference. No matter how big the problem is there is always a solution and with most solutions to a problem, someone or something is always benefiting from it. I know that not I won’t be successful right after high school, but if I choose to use the time wisely, I will eventually have succeded. My high school life has ended up here and i am ready to fit into the real world.

The reflection of the poem performence
Because this is my first time of doing poem performence, i pick a easy monolouge to start with. It was hard to memorize in the begining but it started to goes better as more time i practiced. When i was trying to performe the poem, i felt very nervous which effect the performence badly. Next time i will try to act with more confidence. Also when i was performing the poem my body language is basiclly none. I was just standing there and performing the poem. I should act more body language to make the performence more vividly. To be concluded, i would count my first time performence as a success because i get over the most difficulties and i believe i can do better next time.
